It was great! My hands were sore with clapping!
A proud night for many parents and a very proud night for MGB.
WHAT?
I am referring to the night of 17 December 1987
whwn the school arranged An Evening of Words and Music and invited
an audience of parents, governors, friends and colleagues to what
was to prove a most enjoyable evening.
The evening was a welcome breath of fresh, spring
air - a phoenix rising from the ashes. Despite all the hardships
suffered in schools [recently] the basic raw talent has refused
to be stifled and there can be little doubt that MGB has certainly
got a lot of talent.
Pupils and staff performed 24 separate items of
music and readings - there is not room here to ionclude everybody
that took part or contributed that evening and I apologise here
for not mentioning them allby name. Suffice it to say that the
evening was a huge success and that it would not have been possible
without the hard work and dedication of a large number of peole
(many of whom never got into the spotlight). In particular thanks
to Mr Banks, Miss Hollands and Mrs Gleave.
