I knew as soon as I arrived for interview that I really wanted to work at MGB. There is a buzz about MGB - a sense that we are a school with such a wide range of people with a vast amount of skills. I arrived as Deputy Head Teacher and have taught English and Drama - making films in the Drama studio, directing Y7 students in a mini-pantomime and improvising with the Year 9s.
My English groups make me smile - cajoling you all for coursework, listening to you talking together and having those magical moments when you watch a student standing in front of a class speaking with confidence, skill and pride.
There are so many teachers who I will remember, but especially those who were here at the end of the school. The teachers who worked so hard to make sure that the final days of the school were positive, imaginative and inspiring. To them I send my best wishes.
I'll miss the buzz of the school, but it will always stay in my head.
