Tennis
By Anna,
13, Cardiff, Wales
I have just noticed that nobody has written about tennis. It is the only sport that I am good at. I play it every weekend. I am not the best at it, but I am quite good. If anyone has an opinion about this then write in.

Learning A New Game
By Jennifer,
13, San Francisco, CA, USA
The new activity is called tackle flag football. What we had to do to learn this activity was to listen to the teacher very carefully. I learned this activity from my whole class, and my P.E. instructor, but the main people who helped me were Stephanie, Tina, Erika, Stacy, Michael, Nick, Drew, Devin, and Diana. They helped me learn the game through a kid's perspective so it was easier for me to understand. I felt a little overwhelmed at first with everyone saying to do everything their own way.
For example Drew was telling me to "hold the ball and run, but do not pass it to anyone", then Stephanie was telling me to "pass the ball instead of running with it", and finally Devin told me to "run and as you are running to throw the ball". I decided to take Drew's advice, mainly because it seemed easier and if I made a touchdown I would get the credit. His advice began to help after a few plays so you could say I caught on and began making good plays, touchdowns, and helping my team out a lot.

I am the bat in the bowler's hand I will hit a six, I understand The leather ball is no match for me For I am the descendant of the willow tree
I am the ball waiting to be bowled I understand, I don't need to be told I have to be caught, it's the only way I must win for England I'll make them play!

How about Netball?
By Kellie,

I have been taking this sport on for 3 years. This sport is great fun and helps you get fit. I play Goal Attack which is where you can shoot and attack. I hope you take this sport on. We, our team, practise two times a week and have won ten matches.

Manchester United
As I neared the ground For the very first time My heart was beating faster My scarf was blowing in the wind I was about to see the Master.
My hands were hot and sweaty too The excitement overwhelmed me The cold wind whipped around my ears I pulled my hat on tighter I could hear the opponents jeers.
Beckham , Rio , Fergie and Co Really did put on a good show Both teams scored , it was very close Two minutes to go, we need to score Come on United just one more (
.Hooray
.).
The game is over Its time to go We won ! We won ! We won! Ive watched the master Ive cheered with joy To have been at Old Trafford was fun. (Summer 2003)

Girl's football
By Abby,
15, Waterlooville, UK
I think that it is not fair that 'girl's can't play football', we can we are just as good as the boys are, if we are given a chance. In my area, many girls like playing football but don’t get the chance. We have an annual tournament held at the local community centre, we decide to go along and enter a team. We were the only girls team but we didn’t care. We played against the boys and won many, we won the girls tournament, as we were the only girls team. Last summer we entered our team again and there was another girl’s team, we won the cup again. Since then there has been a Sports Development Worker sent to our area and has set up girls football sessions. It started in October and is still very popular. There is now a Saturday session on grass and an extra session is starting up on Wednesdays indoors with former Pompey player Mark Chamberlain. (March 2003)
