Teachers' Notes and Worksheets are available free in our eTeachers' Portal
These show how Monster Motel can be used in the classroom
If your class would like to take part in Monster Motel:
Visit the site and encourage the children to browse the monsters.
Choose a name for your class or school annex.
Sign up here (only the teacher need sign up)
Encourage the young writers to write a description of a monster, edit and redraft and proof read their descriptions - peer feedback is good here.
Once the text is as good as it can be, the writers should use the web form on the site to submit details of their monster. Please include first name or pen name, age, town and country of creator. (This information cannot identify individuals, so is safe to give.) Please make sure you include your school name - this won't be published, but it will help us to identify your class to put the monsters in the right annex.
To include pictures please scan or draw on screen and send by email as a .jpg with largest dimension no more than 600 pixels. When sending by email please make sure the names of the jpgs correspond to the names of the monsters and/or their creators so we can identify which one goes with which description.
