My friend Georgie

By Georgina, 9

gorgeous and smart
exciting and has a big heart
outgoing and game for a laugh
really quiet in class and playing about
generous and good at art
independent and daring
ever so loving ever so caring!

martin is her last name
always is a helping hand
relaxed and laid back
taller than my other friends
is always chatting in class
naughty in class but good outside!

My two dalmations

By Georgie, 10

Ellie is the eldest of my two dalmations
Laid back
Loving and caring
Independent and daring
Ellie is the best!

Oliver is a cheeky devil
Lively and crazy
In and out of the house he is also lazy
Very naughty and likes his dinner
Even though he is the youngest
Really they are both the best!

Last night I saw the school...

By Lizzie, 10

Last night I saw the school sleeping,
Last night the pencils had a disco and messed up all the pots and the teacher blamed us the next day,
Last night I saw the caretaker doing the salsa with the mop,
and the forgotten instruments playing the best jazz and classical you have ever heard,
Last night I saw the teachers sleeping on the ceiling with black coal wings ,
Last night I saw the school sleeping safe and sound waiting for the day to come.

Last night I heard the head teacher snoring in the staffroom.

Last night I saw a T-rex

By Luke, 11

Last night I saw a t-rex breathing as calmly like the sea swaying left and right. Last night I heard a t-rex smashing its tail on my front door and gritting its teeth angrily. Last night I felt a t-rex thumping its feet slowly but calmly. Last night I tasted fear on a triceratops as the t-rex kills it. (February 2008)

Digger

By Gabe, 10

A young armadillo charging frantically through the quickly reforming earth sweating to create a salty dry smell, its hard back protecting itself from any stones that might murge in with the strong rough smelling soil that crumbles on to the stubby body frame as it charges through the soft ground. Last night at school

By Georgie, 10

Last night at school I saw the pens having a bath with soap in the sink.

Last night at school I saw the scissors boogying by the window.

Last night at school I saw the work folders sneeking out of the corridor.

Last night at school I saw the rulers doing the tango with the white boards.

Last night at school I saw the stick insects doing the side walk on the table.

Last night at school I saw the books reading themselves.

Last night at school I saw the tray tidys messing themselves up.

The Earthmover

By Chloe, 10

Killing, gnawing, Earthmover
Slashing the solid soil.
Ripping and shredding the coal to reveal,
a glint of gleaming gold.
The blade charging through the ground,
just like a boiling mad bull.
Chomping, gnashing, tearing the rough ground.
CRASH
The Earthmover stopped dancing, went to a standstill.

The work finished.
